The possibility of Possibilists

Last night, listening again to Tim Ferris's podcast with William Ury (author of 'Getting to Yes' and 'Possible: How We Survive (and Thrive) in an Age of Conflict'; great interview!), it struck me that the word 'possible' might be an antidote to stress.

If the negative self-talk referred to in yesterday's post comments "I should stop doing xyz", just counteracting that thought with "It's possible that I will stop doing xyz" seems to take the edge off. Suddenly there is a chink in what seems to be the impenetrable armour of an entrenched habit or behaviour.

William Ury calls people who can see possibilities 'Possibilists'. I can't wait to

read his book and see if I qualify!

Does this concept, this possibility, resonate with you at all? Love to hear your thoughts.

Caroline
