Regrets, I've had a few...

For those of you too young to know the song, the lyrics are "Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention..."

The Oxford Dictionary defines regret as "feel[ing] sad, repentant, or disappointed over something that one has done or failed to do.".

Although I understand the sentiment, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that regret is a complete and utter waste of time, because for the most part, we act based on what seems to be the best outcome for the given moment. In hindsight it may turn out to have been a mistake, but given the lack of a crystal ball in our lives...

Most of the regrets I have involve other people, so I won't write about them here. But some major life decisions which could be a cause for regret - such as leaving a prestigious role in order to start this business (Stress Less Music) - won't be on the list (even though everything in business takes longer than I want it to!).

Tonight I will be writing down any concepts/behaviours/habits that I'm ready to let go of, and will either cast the paper into the firepit (if weather permits), or burn the paper using a candle over the kitchen sink (not quite as romantic!).

How about you?

Is there anything you're ready to let go of, that you'd be willing to share here? Or perhaps your release tonight will be any regrets that you've been holding onto, which are sapping your energy?

Love to hear your thoughts!
