Guilt.
It's a horrible, stressful feeling. You've done the wrong thing and you know it. Your conscience, your inner Jiminy Cricket, encourages you to admit your guilt and ask for forgiveness.
But what about when you've done nothing wrong, and in fact nothing IS wrong? Some call it existential guilt, a messed up version of Descartes' 'I think, therefore I am': in this case 'I feel guilty because I am'.
A friend started a business not so long ago and it's progressing reasonably well. She's determined to live a balanced (ish) life, and so spends time with family and friends, and in the garden, which she enjoys.
But time in the garden is, well, pleasurable, and she often finds herself feeling guilty. Not only is she not working on her business, or doing something for/with someone else, but she is - gasp - enjoying herself. Oh dear.
Do you ever feel a sense of guilt which is unwarranted? Love to hear how you deal with it.
